The Algiers International Cultural Festival of Symphonic Music is a major artistic event in Algeria, dedicated to the promotion of classical and symphonic music. Established in 2009 by the Algerian Ministry of Culture and the Arts, it is held annually in Algiers, bringing together national and international orchestras.
The festival welcomes musicians, conductors, and ensembles from numerous countries, offering the audience a rich program featuring masterpieces from the great repertoire (such as Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky) as well as contemporary creations. Performances generally take place in iconic venues like the Algiers Opera House “Boualem Bessaih,” contributing to the enhancement of Algeria’s cultural heritage. In parallel, the festival organizes masterclasses and artistic exchanges, fostering the development of young musicians.
Over the years, the festival has established itself as an essential cultural landmark, contributing to the influence of symphonic music in Algeria and fostering cross-cultural dialogue.
We are delighted to invite you to a prestigious opening night dedicated to cultural exchange and musical excellence. To kick off this season, the Algiers Opera Symphony Orchestra will share the stage with a world-renowned guest of honor: The South Bohemian Philharmonic (Czech Republic).
Under the masterful batons of maestros Lotfi Saidi (Algeria) and Jan Talich (Czech Republic), this exceptional concert will bring together talented soloists for a sonic journey between East and West:
- Kenan Adnawi (Syria): whose virtuosity on the oud will bring a touch of Oriental poetry.
- Dina Sirine Khiari: an Algerian soprano with an enchanting voice.
- Marie Kopecká Verhoeven: a Czech mezzo-soprano with a remarkable stage presence.
