The Algiers Opera Symphony Orchestra

The “Boualem-Bessaih” Algiers Opera is a public institution under the Ministry of Culture and Arts. It serves as a prestigious cultural hub, bringing together three major artistic entities: the National Ballet, the Algerian National Ensemble of Andalusian Music, and the Symphony Orchestra.

Excellence and Expertise
The Algiers Opera Symphony Orchestra is composed of sixty professional musicians, all graduates of leading Algerian and international conservatories. Currently led by Maestro Lotfi Saidi, the orchestra has been dedicated since its founding in 1992 to the promotion of classical, universal, and national heritage music.

Our Core Missions
The Orchestra focuses on two strategic objectives:

  • National Outreach:Promoting and touring universal classical music across Algeria’s various provinces (wilayas).
  • International Recognition:Showcasing the Algerian musical repertoire on the global stage through academic transcriptions and collaborations with national and international cultural partners.
