
A member of the Bremen Theatre ensemble, mezzo-soprano Ulrike Mayer possesses a velvety voice full of lyrical warmth. She regularly performs major roles in her repertoire, such as Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito, Lazuli in Chabrier’s L’étoile, Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina, as well as Bénédict and Nerone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea.
Through her various productions, she has established an international reputation in major European opera houses. She has been invited to perform at the Ruhrtriennale, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Hamburg, Opéra Bastille and Opéra Comique in Paris, as well as the Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg and the Scottish Opera. In 2011, she was nominated as “Young Singer of the Year” by the specialized magazine Opernwelt.
