Premiere of the Choreographic Performance “Rihla”
As part of the implementation of the Ministry of Culture and Arts’ program and under the slogan “State Support for the Promotion of Arts and Literature,” the Algiers Opera House Boualem Bessaïh presents the premiere of the new choreographic performance “Rihla”, produced by the Algiers Opera Ballet, directed and choreographed by Ayoub Nasrallah Belmehel, on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
“Rihla” is a contemporary choreographic performance that tells the story of an artist embarking on a voyage through different spaces in search of meaning, identity, and memory. Each stop along the way transforms into a dance tableau expressing a renewed human, emotional, and cultural experience. This journey is not only geographical but also an inner voyage filled with discovery and transformation.
The production combines dance, theatre, music, and visual arts within a contemporary artistic vision inspired by the national memory and celebrating Algeria’s cultural diversity. Through artistic tableaux inspired by the various regions of Algeria and its prominent historical figures, the performance highlights cultural diversity and national unity, affirming that Algeria’s strength lies in the authenticity of its rich history and the solidarity of its people.
