The Symphony Orchestra of the Algiers Opera consists of about 60 professional musicians graduated from major music institutes in Algeria and abroad. The orchestra aims to promote and highlight global classical music, while infusing it with an authentic Algerian spirit in its performance.
The orchestra’s program includes world symphonic pieces, selections from the most famous operatic works, alongside traditional Algerian pieces rearranged in an elegant symphonic style.
Lotfi Saidi – Conductor
An Algerian musician, arranger, and conductor, graduated from the Regional Institute of Musical Training, specializing in viola, and obtained his General Studies Diploma in 2007. He continued his training in conducting in France, which allowed him to lead both student and professional ensembles, including the National Higher Institute of Music Orchestra and the Algiers Opera Orchestra.
The Ballet of the Algiers Opera represents one of the highest forms of artistic expression in Algeria. This prestigious company aims to highlight the richness of national dance heritage while embracing diverse international styles.
Born from a deep artistic legacy, the Ballet of the Algiers Opera carries a modern creative vision. Comprising dancers who graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts, the company blends academic discipline with a passion for movement, producing artistic tableaux ranging from classical and contemporary to modern and traditional dance.
For over 60 years, the troupe has served as a vibrant voice for a dynamic and ever-evolving culture. With more than 2,500 performances in Algeria and over 60 countries across four continents, the Ballet of the Algiers Opera stands as a true cultural ambassador on the global stage.
Each performance is a celebration of body, rhythm, and spirit — a vibrant tribute to the multicultural identity of the Algerian people, in a universal language that needs no translation: the language of dance.
The Andalusian Ensemble of the Algiers Opera embodies a rich and living musical heritage. It brings together a select group of talented musicians from the three major schools of this refined art: the Algiers, Tlemcen, and Constantine schools.
The ensemble is dedicated to preserving and promoting this authentic musical tradition, while highlighting its essential role as a mirror of the spirit and identity of Algerian culture.
